Tanning in the perfect sun
Tuesday, June 28, 2005
I've almost forgotten the rainfall this past year and the devastation it had on driving anywhere in LA, because of how the weather is right now. I am utterly speechless at it's perfection. I want to bask in the sun all day... without getting a tan of course.
Speaking of tans.....
I don't understand the whole tanning craze. It looks disgusting. Why in the world would you want to look like that??? Not even celebrities with all the money in the world can't get a nice fake tan. They all make you look orange. You see the white part around your eyes where the goggles were applied.... and to top it off, when you get old, you have leather skin... not to mention the high risk of Melanoma and skin cancer.
When linking skin color to attractiveness, it's all relative. You can have a light-skinned African American look "lighter" than a burnt to crisp Asian, but in reality, the African American is still darker. However, in the relative scheme of things, the African American actually looks lighter... and might I say... better. Why? Because, he probably doesn't have the leather skin and ring around the eyes!
So for you tanners out there.... put on some sunblock... leather skin ain't too pretty... neither is skin cancer.
