New York didn't get the 2012... boo hoo.... cry me a river...

“We don’t need reassurance from the International Olympic Committee or anyone else that New York is a world class city,” said Weiner. “We don’t need to put New York on the map. It’s already the center of the universe.”
Ok, I believe I'm a pretty patriotic person. Given that I'm a natural born Korean, I earned my citizenship here in the States... I even lived in NY for several years (I have the scars to prove it). I've even considered myself an "American" before I was naturalized as a citizen. But it's reactions like Weiner's and other idiots in politics that the world press will jump on to smear America more and more. I'm proud of our country... proud of our states. But what he said is just down-right conceited and overstated. So New York lost the bid to host the 2012 Olympics. Stop crying and look at the poles. The poles alone on MSNBC, when I took it, resulted with 75% of people not caring about losing the 2012 Olympics. As a matter of fact, the IOC says that's why we lost out in the first place... the resisdents just don't give a rat's hole about it. I think New York cares more about what the hell the mayor is gonna so about the new WTC.
London instead was the winner. Bloomberg wished the British capital well, but then expressed hope that U.S. athletes would win every single medal at the 2012 Games.
At least be happy that Paris got beaten out by London in the last moments of the vote. I'm not a fan of Europe at all, but I DO have my favorites within Europe. For example... I like the Brits a million times more than the French. So I'm just happy the French lost. I have no problems losing out to the Brits once in a while, as they are one of America's strongest allies... even though it's a grudging one.
